Style du Jour

Here are a few of my favorite looks from Elle Magazine's street style column, Look of the Day. The Elle website has to be one of my ultra-favorite fashion websites. Visit it here

Oh and if you haven't seen the movie Bill Cunningham New York, you must must MUST! He is a street fashion photographer in his 70s who has a fantastic life story to tell.
"Fascinating doc about a photographer surveying the highs and lows of New York society." -The Hollywood Reporter
"This movie made me happy every moment I was watching it." -Roger Ebert (New York Magazine)
Here he is in action:

Song for no one - Miike Snow

As I and the rest of New Zealand thought, the All Blacks did win and have become national heroes. Although the French did play better and should have won the game, the All Blacks were much more worthy contenders for the title. I had a great night at our family friends place! They had hired out a screen the size of Antarctica and also a projector so we could see the game in fantastic vision...although maybe it wasn't the best, as the All Blacks gave us a real scare by just scraping through to win the game 8-7! Blimey, I think I nearly died of a heart attack! Tensions rose to an all time high when, with 15 seconds to go, the projector cut out so my friend Tom leaped from the couch, dashed over to their small TV that was feeding the picture through the projector, and quickly clawed the paper off that was covering it. We all then sprinted over to that TV just in time to watch the All Blacks gain victory!

Soooo anyway, I'm back at boring old school..although, our PE class had a tramp today which was lots of fun! No doubt my group probably scared all creatures away by our fantastic interpretation of the Spice Girls. I won't be having as much fun like that in a while as exams are drawing near..ahhh I'm dreading it! Oh well, I've unpacked my unnecessarily enormous boarding bag so I'm happy! I've also put up all my posters so I can lie in bed and gaze at something that will take my mind off dumbass school! My friend asked my why I felt the need to put up all my posters when we have only 2 weeks of school left. Dude, how can I go a day without looking at my RUUSH posters?! They're magnificant and need to be put on display.

O and the reason I was doing a post was to show these amazing photos from a blogger named Wilma. She's one of my absolute favourites on Lookbook and you must visit her blog! (http://wilmascrazydream.blogspot.com/Her photos are stunning so I posted a few below. YUSSS I'm going to the ballet tomorrow, hell yeah I'm excited!

I actually can't get enough of this picture! The light, clothing, scenery, dancing (!) is amazing. It's kinda magical, don't you think?

For those about to ruck, we salute you.

Today is the day.
New Zealand is going to be Rugby World Cup champions after 80 minutes of brilliant rugby. They're going to put on the show of there lives and make the 4 million + support crew proud, no doubt! Lets kick some derrières française. Kia kaha boys, lets bloody well win this thing. Allez les noirs!

I've loved the support the fans have given through out the tournament! It will be a black sea sweeping the stands of Eden Park tonight.
Even Snoooooooop gets into the spirit!

Henrietta-The Fratellis

Just a few photos from our weekend out in Wellywood. Went op-shopping, ice-skating, ate crepes, then went to the Phoenix game (hence the yellow and black faces)! The Phoenix won 2-0 against the Newcastle Jets, although the Jets had looked hopeless the day before when Dad and I watched them train. Three out of 14 shots at goal they scored in the practise...they had no chance. It was a great day out with the girls and I came across some great buys. Bought two badges for my baseball jacket from the army surplus store as well as some John Lennon glasses for $10. Bargain! I scored another bargain at Temt who were having a sale. I brought some dressy black trousers for $25 and wore them as soon as I got home because, of course, it was the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup! All Blacks played super duper fantastically..can't wait for the final against France this weekend although I'm sooo nervous for the boys...My men, Piri Weepu and Israel Dagg, will have stunning games again no doubt. Anyway better get back to my science internal..it has taken up my whole freakin' afternoon..darn it science, write your own report!

I changed my face artwork on the train home for the All Blacks game hence the scar-like thing on my forehead and weird lines on the left side of my face (they're supposed to be ferns..).

Teen Vogue Covergirl

Visit http://www.teenvogue.com/industry/coverlook/coverlook-november-2011/alexa-chung-teen-vogue-photos#intro for Teen Vogue's story on Alexa Chung. I was so excited to see that she was this months covergirl! Her style is amazing and her personality just as good! I was shocked to see her and boyfriend Alex Turner had broken up though :(

Style: "I love schoolgirl style; it's relaxed but smart, boyish

but girly—all my favorite juxtapositions in one."

On the Royal Wedding:

"I massively bought into the fairy-tale

wedding. But the fact that the press were giving Kate all this

fanfare before she looked amazing is a bit weird, because it's

obvious she got a stylist. Regardless, no one cares about the

mechanics behind why someone looks good."

On being newly single: "It's good to be on your own in an

exciting city. This is when you do stuff for yourself. Right now

is a real turning point. Everything I thought I knew is no

longer. I think this is the year I have to grow up."

I can picture those melting hot days too well..however I'm far off from being able to enjoy such pleasures..exams are getting closer so each day, every day is study, study, study...with the odd moment when I can't get myself to focus like today. Here's what I saw when I thankfully hauled myself away from my desk!
